The Night B4 Christmas

Spent today at Mum & Dad's vegin out on the back verandah. 3kg of fresh prawns for dinner, great company, laughter & a handful of very excited kids splashin' about in the pool. Christmas is such a fun festive occasion.

My gorgeous man has finally met my sister and her clan.

Set myself a "reindeer" challenge and spent the day creating, it's really hard to know when to stop playing with these pages.

Balance

Well this was a whole lotta fun!!! Inspired by Teesha Moore and her awesome youtube tutorials... Bring on the next round.
I am planning on growing my texta colour collection an indulging in a new year of jubliant journalling. So much freedom, and choice. The randomness is fun to tackle. I love the brilliant images in the National Geographic magazines I bought to do the "Magazine Collage" Atc's. The pig ears just finished her off...

My friend Diana suggested i might enjoy joining in a Paper Puppetry Swap she's a part of.

The original thought was to create little worm finger puppets from green felt. Then i was going to try my hand at those styrofoam cup puppets that you push up with a stick, that concept is something i might give a try in the up and coming school holidays....or not.

No idea where these came from but happy to have put my art doll stamps to use- finally!

These little guys are being picked up tonight . Cant wait to see what comes back :)

Magazine Collage - More Kokeshi Dolls !!!

Ok, it appears Kokeshi Dolls are my latest obsession (in case you were'nt aware already). This set of 6 have been created for the live swap tomorrow at Helensvale.
Making ATCs from magazine scrap has been quite a challenge. Decided to keep it simple and stick with what i'm most familiar.

Already Hooked!

Our local ATC swap was held today at Helensvale, quite a few (ppl) down but great fun all the same. Very happy those who can not make it still manage to have their cards available to swap. 

 We decided on Magazine (no computers) for the November swap. My idea hit immediately, but as usual i have created something not at all related to my original thought.

I have a great boss, she believes in me!!! Now I have a chance to do something other than office work, and a chance to go back in time, wish me luck...

Fourteen years after I first trained as a Nail Technician (among other things), im back in class re-learning gel nails!! Never wouldv'e thought. Nothing at all like riding a bike, quite foreign but day 2, and im improving already.

top x2 sets of nails are my model, Christina. Demo of colour Biogel application and then today's practice recap of "French". I'm getting the hang of them.  :)

Back off to training again tonight. Maryanna was a very obliging model, and to think the poor little chooky had to forgoe a night of Guides (first week back too). Shes v. happy with the end result- hopefully enuff to coax her into growing her own...

Am fairly happy with how they turned out. I could keep adding and adding to them, but think its time i just said ENUFF.

In the spirit of my slippers (farewell old faithfuls...)

It was time, soles/souls destroyed. A new vamp on life was a little over due, goodbye my gorgeous slippers- and so the spirit of the slipper sisters are born. Here's #1, possibly destined to become a christmas tree?!

These are my latest fascination, Kokeshi dolls i'm hooked!!

Wonder why I insist on having a few creative drinks the night before live swaps. Thank god the footy was on tonight or there would be no way i would've had these lot done by morning! Have not spent too much time creating lately- that i plan to change :)

What a day... Hours n hours sitting at Allanah's karate tournament (proud mum of a daughter sporting a new rather impressive trophy), usually i take some creative stuff along to occupy me - not enough time to get that organised this morning waking up to 6 little vampires who had hardly slept a wink!!!

Thankfully its only nearly 10:30 and there are a few hours left before sleepy time to get the "Vintage Babies" cards finished off, fingers crossed they'll be ready by the morning. Off to google the perfect quote... sweet dreams ♥

Recycled Cardboard

I stumbled across an article in one of Sarah's, Cloth Paper Scissors magazines. Just had to have a go at making one of these gorgeous little houses. Sat at the table on Saturday night and scrapped together my version from a cardboard box. Now im a bit addicted these two are the most recent versions i am working on, the bigger one is a drawing pad for Claire's 6th Birthday. Totally addicted, love em. xoxo

I went shopping ♥♥♥

I went bargain hunting today and bought the cutest little storage basket for my cuttlebug!!! The colour is a great match. They also had pink, dark blue and orange, such a hard decision...

Belynda and I have been looking into storage options. I couldn't resist this one today at only $7.95 from the discount shop in Ashmore (the one where the Stampers Hut is). Isn't it just so cutey patooty!!!

Unfortunately I never seem to be able to make it to The Scrapbook Cupboard's Live Swap on the first Saturday of each month. Something always seems to fall on that day, I won't be able to make it next week either :(

This card was really hard to photograph, tried to create it in 3 dimensions...

Having several problems in the creative department...


1. I am not feeling at all creative today

2. Ive been wracking my brain on what to do for the "All about me" ATCs, when in actual fact i should be concentrating on "Angels". - I just had an idea, will i get them done for tomorrow? (very much doubt it)

3. My whizz-bang printer has lost all power and is seemingly DEAD. And just when i finally got myself stuck up in a tree (looks cool eh?), I have my girls to thank for the photo :)

Sleepy tonight

It's getting late, been talking to my sister- planning for Christmas. It may be happening in QLD now...
Managed to get the computer up and working again tonight, which i'm most happy about. I must busy myself finishing off my Nursery Rhyme cards, i started today but ended up almost completing a lo instead.

Bit of a technical glitch...

Am very pleased to have made it to Kerri's house, after 12 hours sitting on a hard wood seat at Alley's karate competition, I wasn't sure i had any energy left in me. Surprise, surprise- i finished my layout too!!! Thanks for the loan of the sofa (i didnt attempt to make it home)!

Would really love to post my sepia interpretation of the sketch we took part in but the usb slot has dislodged itself from the front of my tower. I need to pull the whole thing apart to get to it!! :( I'll see if i get a chance to fix it tomorrow. sorry!

Here's what i've come up with so far, you can even see the sticky tape. I found the owl image on a kids singlet top in target or kmart (i get them mixed up). Had to snap a piccy of it with my phone.


Here's my interpretation and the cat just kinda evolved.

Just need some tracing paper 'cos i'm not gonna draw all these ones x12.

I'm quite happy with it so far.

I obviously need to make it a pea-green boat- i'll raid my felt stash tomorrow.

MAKING THE MOST OF WHAT I GOT...

I have finally managed to stitch together a Dottee Doll. yay!!

This is Una, she's (ANOTHER) a work in progress - I couldn't find a needle to stitch her together so I drove up the mountain to VeryKerri's house. (Thanks chook!)

The needle unfortunately was too big for my seed beads so I'm thinking a trip to Spotlight is in order tomorrow, New fibres for hair a priority too.

A TEA PARTY
